Some random site notes, and a few cards to keep things visually interesting...

  • My want list, including ridiculously detailed have lists for the players that I actively collect (as so to avoid getting too many doubles) is finally up-to-date and as complete as these things ever are. I probably should (and may) add haves to the "guys I have a ton of cards of and aren't actively collecting" list, but most of the names on there (especially Winfield, Yount and Molitor) scare the bejeezus out of me. Otherwise, though, it's all good, and if y'all have stuff I like, give a buzz!
  • I'm weighing out the trade list thing, but I've got something like 9000 cards that are tradeable, without even getting into stuff I don't have doubles of yet (and believe you me, I'm looking to find a good home for all those Roberto Alomar cards I don't want). The want list was a huuuuuuge undertaking, so give me some time and I'll see how I feel, though it's probably easiest to just send me your want lists if you're interested in trading.
  • The site, she has a logo now! Hope y'all like it.
  • I've got a ton of stuff percolating in the draft folder (you'll see some of the cards involved in my card slideshow, if you're wondering what my criteria for choosing that stuff is, or what the stories behind the choices were), including a piece that I hope to do about all us weirdos who write about cards regularly, and whether we're actually making a real impact in the mainstream card hobby or just weirdos (either way, it's cool, but I want to talk to y'all about your experiences along those lines), but it will take some time for me to get to all of it. Plus, I don't wanna shoot my bolt right out of the gate. I've already written a lot of words with very little feedback, so I'm not sure who's reading me, if anyone. Feedback's welcome! Comment!

OK, enough of those mean ol' words! Here's some cards!

This rather awesome tobacco-style card of the Babe was done by The Infinite Baseball Card Set's Gary Cieradkowski (the back's a business card of sorts of his) and included in with my order of Series 1. I didn't post it in my initial review because it wasn't part of the set proper (at least I don't think it was), and probably also because I forgot to, but let's go with my first answer. All of Gary's stuff is flat-out amazing, though, so I thought I'd share.

And finally today, one of the greatest goddamn cards ever printed! Here's a 2008 Donruss Celebrity Cuts base card (I think; it is numbered to 499, were they all numbered?) of the man, the myth, the legend...NPH! This card is so awesome, I can't stand it. Seriously, I can feel the awesome leaking through the screen of my monitor right now, irradiating me with its brilliance. A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas in 3D can't come soon enough!

  1. Hi, I just saw your wantlist and I've got a lot to trade you, including a complete 1989 set. Let me know if you are interested and I'll go through the player wants as well. I'd love to find a good home for the '89!

  2. Hey there, Bo!

I'll be in touch shortly, once I parse your HUUUUUUUGE want and trade lists! (As you saw by looking at my want list, unless I'm specifically working on a set, I'm very player-centric rather than card number-centric, so it might take me a minute.)

In the meantime, thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment!
