Cardboard Collections: The Trade!

Yes, I've been really busy on the trade front these past few weeks. It's been a lot of fun and people have been very cool and generous with what they're willing to send. Thanks for going easy on the new guy, folks! Today's incoming trade was with Colbey from Cardboard Collections, who posted recently that he needed MOAR PUCKETT. I sent him some, along with a few Ginters he needed and an '84 Topps Julio Franco (back when he was only in his 30's...just kiddin', you know I love you, Julio...), and here's what I got in return...

A scruffy-lookin' (note left corners) but still awesome '76 Yount! This is one of the best of the '76 set, I think, and it's among Robin's best, too. The colors really jump out at you on this card.

Some Goodwins! This card of Mr. soon-to-be-living-the-rest-of-his-baseball-ass-career-in-somewhere-that-isn't-KC has sold me. I was definitely too hard on the Beaver Goodwins when they came out. Greinke looks like a gunslinger in a duel here. That comparison comes up in baseball cards a lot, doesn't it?

Some more Gretzky for the player collection I haven't catalogued yet...

...and an Eli for his player collection that I haven't logged in yet. "YEAAAAH ELI!!!!" Man, I wonder if that guy near the hot mic at Lambeau during the '08 NFC Championship game made it out of there alive.

Not sure why, maybe it's because it gets expensive once you get further back than the '60s, but I don't have Yogi listed among my player collections. I think I'm in some weird state of Yogi denial. That's it! I'm coming out of the closet! I'm here! I collect Yogi! Get used to it!

And finally today, since we're on the subject of guys I haven't admitted to myself that I'm collecting, have any of you noticed that I've turned into something of a Strasburgular lately? I'm up to 4 of his cards now (661, Attax, More Tales Of The Game and that friggin' Heritage card). Maybe it's time for someone to stage an intervention. Whatever the case, I'm just glad to have this card without using a Yo Mama code, buying a factory set or opening any packs of Update. Yeah. That's it.

...anyone got any Superfractors laying around?
