Tomahawk Chopping: The Trade!

At the end of last week, Derek from Tomahawk Chopping got ahold of me about some Bowman Platinum cards I'd inquired about a while back. As he was doing it, he also expressed some interest in the A-Rod relic I'd posted about that morning, and thus...a trade was born.

A lot of what came in the trade, though it's awesome, isn't pictured here because it's Bowman Platinum and (sing it with me, Cleveland!) Bowman Platinum base cards do not scan well, but I got base of Halladay, Greinke, King Felix, Billy Butler and a bunch of the Team USA kids (including some purplefractors of 'em), along with this beauty, which actually did scan pretty OK:

Jeremy Hellickson, for those who aren't familiar, is the latest in the big mess of Rays pitching prospects. He also looks like he's about 8 years old and has Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern trying to kill him in this picture. Still, beautiful card, my first Hellickson, and a nice addition to the collection!

This, however, was the highlight of the trade. I love Ginter relics. Look at that awesome frame! While "love" is a weird word to use about someone who comes off as surly as Adam Dunn does at times (he could just be misunderstood, but there always seems to be some friction wherever he plays), I'm regularly amazed by how far the guy can hit a friggin' baseball, more than likely without chemical help. So, yeah, nice swap for the A-Rod (who I'm not such a big fan of), and a trade that came off quickly, rather than some of the marathons I've been working on with folks. Don't get me wrong, those are fun too, but it's awesome when you post trade bait and have something incoming for it within a half hour of the post.

Thanks again for the deal, Derek!
