2011 In Review Part IV: 1954

Another great card of "Shotgun", this one from the Bowman set. I'm still doing better on '54 Bowman than Topps as of right now.

From what I can tell, I didn't end up posting this when I got it. I have no idea how that happened. I mean, look at this. They even count his total bases! No tab though, sorry.

On the reverse side, different times, yeah, but two things jump out at me here: 1. 50 packages of chewing tobacco for the premium? Holy mouth cancer! 2. "your boy"? Not only does that sound way more sinister nowadays (I think I just listen to too much Derek and Clive and spent too much time in lower Manhattan in my teens and 20s), but what about those girls who want their dad to die young in order to get them a ball cap and 50 pictures of the famous Red Man All-Stars, personally selected by J.G. Taylor Spink himself? OK, I'm off my soapbox now. Great card, and a nice, if slightly disturbing time capsule.
