The Old Hoss 100!

Yep, I was one of the lucky 84 to get one...

#69, in fact!

For those who are unfamiliar with the folks collaborating on this effort, Punk Rock Paint (who does some brilliant custom card work) and Old Hoss Radbourn (one of Twitter's sharpest minds) collaborated on a limited edition set (which flew off the shelves and was sold out in about 3 minutes), based upon Mr. Radbourn's assessment of the players on ESPN's 100 Greatest Baseball Players list. The results were magic. Magic, I tells ye!

The front of the box, for you box art perverts.

"Side...

"...side."

Be careful!

Now, let's have a quick peek at what the cards look like. Now, the fronts are all well and good, and we'll get to them, but the card backs are the most important part in this set, so here's a decent handful of them...

(You're obviously going to want to click through to actually be able to read them.)

I got short prints! Nice touch, having me get "S. Crawford" as a short-print. Not that I'm saying the game's rigged or anything. (Again, click through for legibility.)

Now, just a few of the card fronts, for you visually-fixated fools who insist on G. Eastman's folly...

Like I said, just a few card fronts: two of my short prints, both horizontals, and the Roy Halladay base card. Really love the exhausted Halladay.

Yes sir, I am glad I scored this set. Thanks to Travis at Punk Rock Paint for fulfilling it, and to Old Hoss Radbourn, if he can hear me in that great big opium den in the sky.

  1. I tried and failed. The "Trout Defeats Cabrera" and Naked Gun Queen Elizabeth cards are amazing, of course.

    I'm jealous!

  2. Also if there's something you may want for the Griffey, I'm sure I can put together one heck of a trade package for it....

  3. Yeah, that one's part of the base set, alas, so I don't think it's going anywhere.
