F00'tball Claim Your Team Progress Report!

So, as of right now, here are what the stacks look like for the claimed teams...

Side view, to illustrate average height on the non-Texans stacks. Looks like about 200 cards per stack, roughly speaking.

Went with a sideways view for this, didn't feel like rotating it and you'll be able to see the top cards better. Oldest cards for each stack are as follows:

Texans: 2005 Topps
Giants: 1959 Topps
Vikings: 1972 Topps
Redskins: 1969 Topps
Cowboys: 1974 Topps
Saints: 1970 Topps
Packers: 1955 Bowman
Colts: 1955 Bowman

To give you a little more perspective of how the stacks break down:

Colts: 25 are 1986-back
Cowboys: 32 are 1986-back
Giants (1983-back claimed, though I pulled 'em all): 44 are 1983-back
Packers: 35 are 1986-back
Redskins: 28 are 1986-back
Saints: 50 are 1986-back
Texans: N/A
Vikings: 33 are 1986-back

With each stack, the following stars are represented pretty well:

Colts: Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, Joseph Addai, Dallas Clark, Reggie Wayne

Cowboys: Miles Austin, Jason Witten, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith

Giants (remember, pre-'84): Brad Van Pelt, Harry Carson, George Martin

Packers: Brett Favre, Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, Charles Woodson, Clay Matthews, and I almost forgot to add the Aaron Rodgers pile! Guy gets no respect.

Redskins: Gary Clark, Art Monk, Antwaan Randle El, Santana Moss, Clinton Portis

Texans: Andre Johnson, Matt Schaub, Owen Daniels

Saints: Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, Marques Colston, Morten Andersen

Vikings: Jared Allen, Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin, Visanthe Shiancoe, Adrian Peterson

The only stuff I haven't dug into yet for the team stacks are the slightly higher-end rookies (I've got an Adrian Peterson Topps rookie, just as an example, and I didn't REALLY dig deep on the '60s-'70s stars, just did commons), stars, relics, autos, etc., but that, we'll have to see, on a case-by-case basis, what your interest level is.
Now, the fun part: I need y'all to email me so we can start working out the particulars of these deals. Cash? Trade? Mix of both? We'll figure it out.

For those who are interested now that you've seen how crazy this is, there are still 22 teams left! You can email or comment to claim your team!

240 Upper Deck Yankee Stadium Legacy Cards For $120 Shipped

Conditions should all be at least EX-NM, most in NM-MT. Card numbers available upon request (VERY serious inquiries only). Shouldn't be any doubles (out of all the YSLs I have, I only have doubles of one Randy Johnson card which I kept quarantined from the others). I can tell you that there are no Gehrigs, Ruths, DiMaggios, Munsons, Jeters or Riveras, but there are Berras, Mattinglys and Reggies among many others.

$120 shipped is a FIRM price. Will consider REALLY good trade offers (like, REALLY good), but this is one of those lots that I could use cash for in a big way.

Leave a comment here or drop an email to me if you're interested or have any questions. Also: if you know someone collecting YSL, PLEASE pass this info on to them. Thanks!

On the subject of trade bait and f00'ball: Claim Your Team!

I've had a few people who collect f00'ball cards inquire about my stash for entire teams since I got my huge f00'ball lot.

I am all sorts of up for this, be it a trade deal or a cash one. We can work out specifics as we know what we're dealing with in terms of volume and "expensive" cards.

I may even have enough of some teams to double-dip, though I make no promises there. Let's get through one round of this first.

If you're interested in trading for a fair amount of cards from any one particular f00'ball team, here's what's available and what's been claimed so far:

Claimed Teams:

Bears: Me*
Colts: superduperman99
Cowboys: Capt. Canuck
Giants: Stubby
Packers: Bleedin' Brown & Gold
Redskins: Roy-Z
Saints: Junior Junkie
Steelers: Me*
Texans: Dimwit
Vikings: rootlinuxusr

* With both the Bears and Steelers, I've raided the stashes pretty good, but I may have some of each available later once I've evaluated if there's enough to offer around. There'll definitely be Roethlisberger and Cutler cards left over, because I don't like those dudes.

Available Teams:

49ers
Bengals
Bills
Broncos
Browns
Buccaneers
Cardinals
Chargers
Chiefs
Dolphins
Eagles
Falcons
Jaguars
Jets
Lions
Oilers/Titans
Panthers
Patriots
Raiders
Rams
Ravens
Seahawks
Now, keep in mind here that I've got available cards going back as far as 1948 (just one '48 Leaf, but I've got it), and a bunch of '70s stuff, but it, of course, varies by team. Newer expansion teams like the Texans, there won't be as many cards, obviously. There will also be cases where key players don't have a ton of cards in my trade stashes because they're guys I collect or sorta-collect (examples: Brees in the Saints stuff, anyone on the '68 team and D'Brickashaw Ferguson in the Jets stuff, Fred Biletnikoff in the Raiders). On some of that, though, even if I collect the players pretty seriously, I've still got a bunch of spares. Elway/Rice/Montana/Young/Barry Sanders all come to mind.

If you've got specific questions about what is or isn't available, let me know!

Oh, and to give those of you in TV Land (especially those who've claimed teams so far) an idea of how this is looking so far, here's a picture of the stacks I have for the Colts, Cowboys, Redskins and Vikings. Nothing but Topps (and I think at least one or two Philadelphia or Fleer) commons so far (haven't dug into the stars/rookies/etc. yet), but dating back to 1955 in one case.

Probably around 100-ish cards for each team "owner" so far there. (Stubby's Giants are a bit more complicated, as there are a ton more than other teams had, regional interest and all, but Stubby may only be interested in '83-back Giants, so stay tuned on that.)

Let me know if you're game, and we'll get started on figuring stuff out!

Update! With the Saints and Packers claimed, let's look at how those piles are going so far (this is '89 Traded-back):

Saints doin' way better than the Pack so far (the previous owner had a LOT of pre-'87 Saints), but there's a couple of early James Loftons in the Packer pile, and that stack will definitely fatten up over time.

Still 22 teams (and lots of popular ones) left!

My Trade Baits. Let Me Show You Them.

Keeping this to a minimum, textwise. If you have questions about anything, ask 'em!

I'll be at Dr. Wax's card show on Sunday, July 14th!

Or, heck, here:

 Time: July 14, 2013 from 9am to 3pm
Location: East Dover First Aid Building
Street: 530 Garfield Ave.
City/Town: Toms River NJ 08753
Phone: 732-506-9311

It's a buck to get in, $30 to set up two, count 'em, two tables (reserve tables by email), there are raffles all day for attendees and dealers alike, there's a live auction at noon, some great folks are regular dealers there, you can take a ride across the bridge and get lunch at Seaside Heights, and, yes, I'll be there!

Come down, marvel at all the goddamned f00'ball cards I've gotten in, buy some stuff from me, trade some stuff with me, and shoot the breeze with the other dealers and I! It'll be a good time!

Since I was Freddy Foreshadowing in that last post...

Here, have a sneak peak at some really old f00'ball cards. Apologies for going low-rez, but I got all 16 of the available-for-sale-or-trade cards in the shot that way.

First row: '48 Leaf Pat Harder (UER, spelled "Harber" on the card), '50 Bowman Donald Doll, '54 Bowman Don Paul and Leon McLaughlin.

Second Row: '54 Bowman John Bauer and Jim Dooley, '55 Bowman Kyle Rote and Bill Wightkin.

Third Row: '55 Bowman Jack Simmons, John Schweder, Jerry Norton and Roger Zatkoff.

Fourth Row: '55 Bowman Tom Scott, Ray Renfro, Lynn Chadnois and Art Spinney.

The only ones I may keep out of this batch (keeping in mind that I kept the '55 Bowman Jim Ringo, the '50 Bowman Pat Harder and the '54 Bowman Dick Chapman, which you'll see here eventually) are the '54 Bowman Jim Dooley (love the Bears logo) and the '55 Bowman Tom Scott (He's pretending to be an eagle!).

So I have some f00'ball cards available...

The stuff in the stacks is in chronological order. So, below the '65 Philadelphia card are a couple '66-'67 Philadelphias, then '59-'76 Topps, below the '77 Topps are '78-'79s, and so forth. All of the cards below the Elways and Marinos are '84s.

This is just the pre-1987, non-'48 Leaf or '50s Bowman f00'ball (didn't have room to get those in this shot) that I've got available for sale or trade right now. I'm still finishing up the sorting (nearly 2 weeks later), so we're well before the "have a list of anything" point, so if there's stuff you collect, ASK.

It is a good time to know me if you collect f00'ball cards.

Yes, I'm still alive.

Trust me, I wouldn't hear from you either if your house looked like this right now...

I am slowly but steadily wading my way through a pretty big (40,000-ish) card collection right now, so I'm gonna be a little while. Your patience will be rewarded!
